This pair of Northern Fantails have been keeping me company since I arrived. I noticed last week they had built a nest a little upstream. I waited until they weren't around to have a sneaky peek - and grab a quick snap inside the nest. Even during the storms the female sits in the nest, with the wind blowing and the trees bending around her, protecting her one precious egg.
Finding the time to go looking for stuff like this when tour guiding is tricky. But these are the simple joys in the life of a caretaker.
Wonderful bird photos Gary.
